Do you get the feeling that you’re being followed? Do you get the feeling that you’re being swallowed? Do you ever get the feeling your life is kinda hollow? Ever get the feeling that somebody’s lying, ‘Cause they got some junk that they want you buying? Do you load up on crap and pretend the world’s not frying? When you read the headlines do they make you furious? And are you ever even just the least little bit curious, At how snap your leash ’til you’re at the end of your tether, And how their infotainment makes you think you’re clever? Do you get the feeling that the walls were closing, While you watched a screen with your conscience dozing? Do you ever second guess the choices that you’ve chosen? Are you and yours busy breeding like rabbits? Do you teach your children the same old harmful habits? Are you still convinced that your children are the future? Well what future for us if all your kids want is filthy lucre? Do you get the feeling that your life’s been wasted, In the office cubicle where you placed it? Do you ever get the feeling that maybe it’s time you faced it?

Based on the evidence it seems that she’ll always land on her feet And there she’ll stand her ground, Based on every dance move that she makes she drums her own beat, And word has gotten ‘round She is the new invincible girl, He’s finally met his match, She’ll never throw the game so you know she’s a catch. Based on the, Evidence, He was so virtuous, but she’s so voluptuous That his virtue never stood a chance Based on the evidence it seems that he’s mostly smitten these days Some things will never change Braced for the elements he breaks hibernation and goes out to play A game she prearranged. Wrestling with his heart in the ring It’s got him on the floor Down for the count but up for his paramour Based on the, Evidence, He was so virtuous, but she’s so voluptuous That his virtue never stood a chance Based on the evidence it seems that they’ve moved on to the next round, Both leading with their chins, Lowered their defences, it’s not surprising they’ve come around, And now the fun begins It took forever getting to here Now it’s a late night bout Off of the ropes and punch drunk in love no doubt Based on the, Evidence, He was so virtuous, but she’s so voluptuous That his virtue never stood a chance

There’s no answer and there’s response and I don’t know why I try It’s more than simply a bit frustrating when I’m getting no reply Am I supposed to wait so patiently and indefinitely Watch the headlines babe, I’ve got news for you, oh yeah, I’ve got news for you. Check my messages, glance at my phone and there’s not a trace of you I’ll just finish my night pacing, waiting, and knock back a drink or two Am I supposed to wait so patiently and indefinitely Watch the headlines babe, I’ve got news for you, oh yeah, I’ve got news for you. I did my best at anchoring us on a drifting relationship Now I’ll sign off for the night, there’s no more to transmit, And I know when to quit Off your radar and on to my next glass, not quite the night I planned I’ve given up on convincing myself that I’ll ever understand Am I supposed to wait so patiently and indefinitely Watch the headlines babe, I’ve got news for you, oh yeah, I’ve got news for you. I did my best at anchoring us on a drifting relationship Now I’ll sign off for the night, there’s no more to transmit, And I know when to quit Off of your radar and on to my next glass, not quite the night I planned I’ve given up on convincing myself that I’ll ever understand Am I supposed to wait so patiently and indefinitely Watch the headlines babe, I’ve got news for you, oh yeah, I’ve got news for you, uh huh, I’ve got news for you, right now, I’ve got news for you

Caution Tape 02:49
Loving more begets more love, or so the poster says, But one man’s more is someone else’s less Emotional complexities, supposedly enshrined Boiled down to a tacky valentine Mind the caution tape, as you stand agape Caution tape ran out, before you taped your mouth A wise man would have walked, but you just had to talk A sit-com documentary, a couple on a screen Giving love a mindless happy sheen Simplified to platitudes, you’re in the starring role, A farce of nature scores a worthless goal Mind the caution tape, as you stand agape Caution tape ran out, before you taped your mouth A wise man would have walked, but you just had to talk Love finds its niche upon hats, t-shits, and ties A cloying commodity, that’s sold out of your size Interrogated on the spot, an audience of friends, It seemed the fireworks would never end Mind the caution tape, as you stand agape Caution tape ran out, before you taped your mouth A wise man would have walked, but you just had to talk Get behind the caution tape, You said your bit, there’s no escape, You broke it when you went for make-or-break

If you follow the trail of red droplets it leads To where statues and maples stand and bleed We'll lower some flags, as if that will save The tiny and innocent in graves There's a file in a desk, where the evidence hides And ledgers hold lists of those that died But they're not for our eyes, so we'd best move along To wave flags in July, like nothing's wrong Two hundred and fifteen and that’s just a start Two hundred and fifteen holes in our hearts One is one too many, so how did we get here? Two hundred and fifteen tears A pipeline protected by goons in red serge Take a musical ride, 'til your guilt’s been purged And we'll smile and shake hands with oil men and popes And stand back from the edge of a slippery slope With the church and the state as the captors at large Of the small ghosts of history in their charge An outlet for the sadists, in black robes and capes And the dead can't talk of beatings and rapes Two hundred and fifteen and that’s just a start Two hundred and fifteen holes in our hearts One is one too many, so how did we get here? Two hundred and fifteen tears Self-righteous and smug, a finger we wag At oppressive regimes, but we cannot brag Who are the barbarians, cruel and unjust? In hindsight, the real savages are us. Two hundred and fifteen and that’s just a start Two hundred and fifteen families ripped apart One is one too many, so how did we get here? Two hundred and fifteen tears, two hundred and fifteen...

Ever Notice? 02:16
Maybe they’re right and the Earth is still flat, And maybe we’ve no right to argue with that Heads into the sand, they’ll do it for the man Before he goes for a smote Better not to question the afterlife obsession, The poison’s tastier than the antidote Ever notice that ones who don’t believe in evolution are the ones it’s leaving behind? Wagging a dogma that don’t have a prayer They’ve earned the right to be putting on errs Thinking they’re connected, feeling so protected, Pawns upon the big board But being so theistic has made them so simplistic, Trampled after they’ve gambled on their high horse Ever notice that ones who don’t believe in evolution are the ones it’s leaving behind? You wonder what it took for them all to accept the insanity Perhaps it does wonders for certain small numbers But it’s just holding back the rest of humanity Some day they’ll dig up the ruins of this And they’ll have a laugh because who could resist? At all the funny monkeys, fundamental flunkies, Barely out of their trees Reality distortions of biblical proportions, As it brought a whole species down to its knees Ever notice that ones who don’t believe in evolution are the ones it’s leaving behind? Ever notice how ones with all the sanest of solutions don’t have magic men in the sky?
